I somehow found myself in Colorado Springs in March of 2000. I wandered into an instrument store and thought I should get a ukulele. At that point, I hadn't really heard much ukulele music but I was in Colorado for a month and had no guitar or piano so I figured I'd get something portable.
You couldn't separate me from that thing for days. In my hotel room, I thought of a bunch of old songs of mine that would work on ukulele. I even wrote a few new ones. Most of the songs are pretty silly. Very silly, really. It's hard not to sing humorous or bawdy tunes with a uke in hand so I went with it.
I recorded the whole album in two days. I'm also proud of being 100% acoustic for this album. Uke, snare drum, talking drum, kazoo, recorder, acoustic guitar (for Jimmy bass), pots and pans and vocals.
